Lurching along is the Creepy Coupe with the Gruesome Twosome, and right on their tail is the Red Max. And there's the Arkansas Chug-A-Bug with Luke & Blubber Bear. Sneaking along last is that Mean Machine with those double dealing do-badders Dick Dastardly and his sidekick, Muttley."

Travel, in all its forms, is taking over as the print for summer 2012. Prada showcased 50's kitsch Cadillacs in candy colours in their latest collection with....

My bad got distracted by The Apprentice and can't remember the rest of that sentence. Goddamn you Alan Sugar. A side theme to retro prints if I may: I could cheerfully punch each and every contestant on that programme, and yet I can't stop watching it. Ach! that's the power of TV for you kid's...

The midi length is especially 'a la mode' and compliments the 1950's vibe perfectly. (woah! actually starting to sound serious/like I know what I'm talking about using sentences like that. Trust me, I probably don't)
But I do know what I like, and I like what I know.
Annnnd now I'm talking in riddles like the Cheshire Cat. ACH!

In sum; if it's good enough for Carey Mulligan, I'm on board (minus the chipmunk. Although it does make for a unique outfit)

Music wise I am mostly listening to Rudimental - 'Feel the love' propaaa summa chooon innit. Makes me want to be in a field with a nice cold cider. and possibly a wok. And also anything by Delilah, her voice is amazing and I love her dip dyed hair.

Now if you've been reading Vogue or have visited Topshop recently (and if you haven't, WHY haven't you?!) Mary Katrantzou is a name you're probably familiar with. Her modern take on 'old lady' florals has been a massive hit on the catwalk and her capsule collection for Topshop was one of the most anticipated high street-designer collaborations OF ALL TIME (I don't know what's with all the capitals today, feeling a tad DRAMATIC)

Where was I?....yep MK has revamped the print and has managed to make head to toe floral look cool. Wear with caution though if you're not of Charlotte Free proportions, the trick is to try and not look like a lampshade.

So, thanks to the revival of all things flowery the high street has gone mad for prints too. Even George at Asda is getting in on it! I found these little beauties last week and I'd only popped out for milk

Worn with a plain tshirt or subtle crop top makes for the perfect summer, Mary Katrantzou inspired, outfit. Now all we need is the weather...take me on holiday someone?

I'll be taking mine to Amsterdam at the weekend, fingers crossed its sunny and that the graphic print doesn't cause too much trouble for those experiencing the side affects of magic mushrooms...

Here's a worrying thought; I always write when I've been out for a few bevvies the night before..I hope I'm not destined to become a raging alcoholic like Ernest Hemmingway.

I've decided I was definitely born in the wrong era. Forget being a 90's kid, I want to be a 1920's flapper girl.

I made this decision following a night at the theatre with the madre last week (check me out, two theatre trips in the space of a few weeks! anyone would think I was a grown up or something...)
We went to see 'A Night At The Cotton Club' over the water as a birthday surprise and, despite being the youngest person in the audience by at least 20 years, I actually enjoyed it!

If you're not mildly into Jazz or the 'crooners' of that era, or at least appreciate dancing like the Lindy Hop and Charleston I'd steer well clear. BUT if like me you have a secret soft spot for Billie Holiday and love tap dancing then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
I've since been searching for a local Lindy hop/jive dance class. Now I just need a partner to throw me around, any takers?

Why did we, as a human population/society/community etc., stop dancing like they did in the jazz bars and speakeasy's of the 20s and 30s?
When did it become socially acceptable to ask a girl to dance by standing too close behind her and grinding on her? All the technological, medical and social advances aside we as a people have lost all class when it comes to, for many males, the uncharted territory of the dance floor.

So boys, take note! Don't be afraid to dance or at least attempt to; God loves a trier! And ask a girl first before you decide to force yourself, and usually half the contents of your glass, upon her.

In other news I have taken to wearing a flower in my hair ala BH (see above)...

And, just when I thought I couldn't love her anymore, she goes and does this;

Once again, I'm crying because I'm not Beyonce. Do you ever do that?
